FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Ill., has started testing its new MEDITECH 6.1 EHR platform, which it plans to take live in October, reports Journal Standard.
FHN Memorial Hospital selected MEDITECH's EHR in 2015, investing $8 million in the project. The hospital is calling its EHR project OurFHN, which will incorporate the hospitals' MyFHN Patient Portal, which was launched in 2014, according to the report.
In addition to the testing period that began Monday, the hospital has three more testing periods scheduled in the next three months.
"The benefit will be to the community long term, because it will allow us to provide care in a way that we historically have not been able to, which means a much more coordinated, much more efficient, much more proactive focus on overall health and wellness," FHN Executive Vice President Mark Gridley said in the report.
