FDA awards $1M to use EHR data to evaluate drug safety

The Food and Drug Administration will award a $1 million grant to take EHR data and continuously analyze the risks and benefits of drugs once they hit the market, according to Clinical Innovation + Technology.

The grant will be awarded for the development of analytic processes that can mine hundreds of millions of patient records and identify drug safety trends. Applications are due June 15 and the grant will be awarded July 15.
