Facebook seeks director of health partnerships

Facebook's Social Good team is looking to hire a director of health partnerships to develop an "ecosystem" of partners within the healthcare sector, according to a recent job listing.

The role, based at Facebook's Menlo Park, Calif., headquarters, will expand collaborations with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, research institutions and other industry partners to improve Facebook's health offerings. The director will also oversee a team of Facebook employees dedicated to furthering these collaborations and play a role in developing the company's health strategy.

According to the listing, the ideal candidate for the role should have at least five years of experience with a health-focused consumer technology company, and ideally, 15 or more years spent in the broader health sector, plus an existing network of contacts with various healthcare institutions and agencies.

Facebook's Social Good team is responsible for several health initiatives integrated into the social media platform, such as the blood donations feature, which connects blood banks with potential donors and alerts donors of shortages and nearby blood drives, as well as an artificial intelligence-enabled system that identifies users at risk of suicide and directs them to support resources.
