Epic, QPID to drive big data, population health initiatives at Partners HealthCare

Partners HealthCare invested $1.2 billion to implement the Epic EHR. Now, Epic and clinical intelligence platform QPID will work together to support the health system's focus on big data, according to a Health IT Analytics report.

QPID, developed in 2007 by Massachusetts General Hospital radiologist Michael Zalis, MD, and software architect Mitch Harris, PhD, will be rolled out across all of Partners HealthCare's hospitals and physician practices over the next two years, according to the report.

QPID will pull and analyze data from Partners' Epic EHR, an important component of the system’s population health management strategy.
