Epic joined forces with Nuance Communications, a voice and language solutions provider, to embed computer-assisted physician documentation services into its EHRs.
The new solution, called the Epic NoteReader CDI, uses artificial intelligence from Nuance's CAPD technology to provide physicians with clinical documentation improvement feedback. The solution analyzes electronic notes in the EHR at the point of care to inform physicians of any potentially missing information in need of clarification.
