If offered the $11 billion EHR contract from the Department of Defense, Epic, IBM and Impact Advisors plan to conduct testing and training of their proposed system at the Oregon Health & Science University's Simulation Center in Portland, according to a Portland Business Journal report.
The SimulationCenter would provide "state-of-the-art training" for DOD clinicians to practice both medical and EHR protocols under a number of scenarios, according to the report.
"OHSU is yet another building block for what we're trying to do," said Andy Maner, managing partner of global business services at IBM U.S. Federal, in the report. Our focus is on helping DOD be on time and on budget."
The SimulationCenter at OHSU is a collaborative effort between Portland (Ore.) State University, OregonStateUniversity in Corvallis and OHSU.
