Programmers, clinicians and innovators will gather next month in Indianapolis to collaboratively build integrated and interoperable health solutions. The "Connectathon" is hosted by Epic and Indianapolis-based Eskenazi Health.
Participants will be challenged to use Epic tools and Health Level Seven's FHIR application programming interface standards to build new, interoperable applications addressing common healthcare issues, including identifying at-risk populations, monitoring patients and planning across the care continuum.
"Indiana has long been a state known for interoperability and health information exchange innovation," said Brian Norris, vice president of Indiana HIMSS. "We are honored to partner with Eskenazi Health and Epic to solve some of our most complex challenges in healthcare with the brightest innovators."
The Connectathon will be held April 23 and 24 at Eskenazi Health.
