Epic EMR leads small practice market share; McKesson updates CDS solution; and Jeb Bush loves his Apple Watch — 9 key notes on health IT companies

Here are nine recent news updates on key health IT companies.

1. Epic System's EpicCare Ambulatory EMR was reported to hold the largest market share among physician practices with four or more clinicians in a survey from AmericanEHR Partners.

2. The Reno Sparks Tribal Health Center, a health clinic tribally owned and operated that is situated near the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony near Reno, Nev., selected NextGen Healthcare's solutions, including its ambulatory EHR, practice management and electronic dental record solutions.

3. The Hawaii Pacific Oncology Center at Hilo (Hawaii) Medical Center has implemented MEDITECH's Oncology 6.0x EHR.

4. A Research and Markets report identified eClinicalWorks, McKesson, athenahealth, Allscripts, GE Healthcare, Epic and Cerner among key players in the CPOE market.

5. Two executives from San Jose, Calif.-based Vocera Communications were recognized in the Bay Area as influential women.

6. Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, Miss., plans to upgrade its EHR system to MEDITECH's 6.1 Web Ambulatory solution. 

7. EHR provider McKesson released the latest edition of its decision support solution, InterQual 2015.
