Epic deployed at WakeMed

Raleigh, N.C.-based WakeMed Health & Hospitals is now live on Epic's EHR platform, according to Triangle Business Journal.

The implementation project cost the hospital $100 million, though experts expect digital records to save money in the long run, according to the report.

WakeMed joins neighboring health systems Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Health System and Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC Health Care in implementing Epic. As of March 1, 2014, all of Duke University Health System was live on Epic, and UNC Health Care started its Epic implementation April 4, 2014.
