Emids, a provider of health IT services and solutions, purchased Encore Health Resources from QuintilesIMS.
Encore, a health information analytics and technology consulting company, assists providers in planning, implementing, managing and optimizing clinical and business systems. The firm aims to help providers improve performance, care coordination and population health management.
The acquisition complements emids existing expertise in the payer space. It provides new business opportunities and adds nearly 200 consultants and a Dallas office to the portfolio of Nashville-based emids, according to a Nashville Post report.
"As healthcare becomes more integrated and the focus on consumerism grows, payers and providers are working more closely together," said emids founder and CEO Saurabh Sinha in a statement. "The ability to provide healthcare technology expertise and solutions that serve both payers and providers, as well as healthcare technology partners, will be critical to help our customers succeed in the future."
