Lawrence Melrose Medical Electronic Record, an electronic health record vendor in Melrose, Mass., has sent a letter to the New Hampshire State Attorney General stating that a data breach has occurred involving its software, according to a Government Health IT report.
According to the letter, six medical practices, including Hallmark Health Medical Associates in Malden, Mass., were involved in the breach. It also states that the protected health information of two New Hampshire residents, who are patients of the practices, has potentially been compromised as a result of the breach.
The company will notify the Office for Civil Rights of the data breach, according to the report.
