EHR Association Asks CMS to Reconsider Patient-Level Data Reporting Requirement

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society's Electronic Health Record Association has asked CMS to reconsider its proposal to require the submission of patient-level data as it pilots electronic submissions of clinical quality measures, according to a HIMSS news release.

The EHR Association believes the proposed requirement would be too burdensome for provider organizations. Under the EHR incentive program, providers currently need to electronically report only summary data in the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative XML format.
