Toby Cosgrove, MD, former CEO at Cleveland Clinic, joined medical device innovation company InnovaHealth Partners as a senior advisor, according to a Nov. 20 news release.
Dr. Cosgrove served as CEO of Cleveland Clinic from 2004-17, but now serves as an executive advisor to the health system. In 2018, he joined Google Cloud as an executive advisor to the technology giant's healthcare and life sciences division.
Dr. Cosgrove, a cardiothoracic surgeon, performed more than 22,000 operations before retiring from surgery in 2006, and he holds 30 patents for medical innovations, according to the news release.
In the past few months, Dr. Cosgrove has taken on advisory roles at other health IT companies. He joined the board of directors for Hims & Hers, a wellness and telemedicine startup, in October, as well as telehealth company American Well in November.
