Farzad Mostashari, MD, the former National Coordinator for Health IT, is set to join the Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform, part of the Brookings Institution, as a visiting fellow.
Dr. Mostashari will focus on helping providers use health IT to improve care delivery, expanding the Accountable Care Organization Learning Network and continuing to foster the adoption and use of electronic health records and health information exchanges.
"While clinicians have the expertise and commitment to lead needed reforms in health care in the United States, they are facing a challenging and rapidly changing environment today. We welcome Farzad in joining our efforts to identify and implement the most promising reforms to help them improve healthcare and the health of Americans," said Mark B. McClellan, MD, PhD, director of the Health Care Value and Innovation Initiative at the Brookings Institution, in the news release.
