Dignity Health hospital launches mobile app

French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo, Calif., has launched its first mobile app that provides patients essential hospital information.

FHMC, a Dignity Health hospital, launched the FrenchWay app to help patients, employees, physicians and any hospital visitor to "better navigate through our hospital facilities and connect to a network of information via one-click Wifi access," according to the hospital website.

App users can receive directions to and from the hospitals, access navigational tools and an indoor GPS to navigate through buildings, access information on physicians and department services and connect to the patient portal.

The launch initiates the app's 90-day pilot program, but Dignity Health plans to eventually implement the app at all its hospitals, according to a KSBY report.
