Detroit Medical Center, which operates eight hospitals throughout the Detroit area, attributes a savings of more than $5 million to the use of electronic medical records, according to a Detroit Medical Center news release.

DMC also cites EMRs as a reason for improved patient care throughout the health system. The health system reports EMRs helped reduce medication errors by up to 75 percent.
