Delaware Health Information Network — a statewide health information exchange — is offering patients more transparency through a consumer-facing app, the Cape Gazette reports.
The free app, called Health Check Alert, will deliver various updates to subscribed patients via secure text message — for example, that a medical result has been delivered to their physician or that a physician has accessed their medical record. The service aims to help patients access their healthcare information and improve patient-physician communication.
Patients will also be able to access their own personal health records through an interactive secure portal that includes prescription information, vital statistics and data from personal health trackers, according to the Cape Gazette.
