The Delaware Health Information Network — the first statewide health information exchange in the U.S. — earned certified status for information security from the Health Information Trust Alliance.
The two-year certification requires an HIE platform to continue monitoring privacy controls and experience no reportable data security breaches. To receive the designation, DIHN collaborated with the healthcare information security company BluePrint Healthcare IT, a HITRUST Authorized CSF Assessor, to strengthen its policies and procedures.
"More than 2.2 million patients have entrusted DHIN with their sensitive information," said Mark Jacobs, CIO of DHIN. "Receiving HITRUST CSF Certification gives practitioners, payers and consumers added assurance that DHIN meets the highest standards of security, privacy and compliance."
