CoxHealth expands telemedicine benefits across Missouri

Springfield, Mo.-based CoxHealth has expanded DirectConnect, its telemedicine program, across the state, the News-Leader reports.

The nonprofit health system is now offering its telemedicine program for a flat fee of $49 per visit, even to uninsured residents of Missouri, according to the report. Costs may be lower for patients with insurance.

Through DirectConnect, patients are able to consult a provider through a live, confidential video chat on their computer or mobile device. CoxHealth is offering consultations on basic illnesses and injuries such as strep throat, minor burns and pink eye, according to its website.
