ContextMedia, a Chicago-based healthcare decision platform, has entered an agreement to acquire the New York City-based patient education network AccentHealth in an all-cash purchase.
The AccentHealth patient education platform includes digital products like a waiting room television network, interactive tablets for exam rooms and mobile touchpoints. With this acquisition, ContextMedia will integrate its own technology into AccentHealth's network, bringing ContextMedia's reach to more than 55,000 healthcare locations comprising 500 million outpatient consultations each year. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2016, subject to customary closing conditions.
The interactive ContextMedia decision platform includes 3-D anatomical and condition models for physicians and video-based patient engagement tools, among other capabilities that aim to improve comprehension, conversation and compliance of chronic disease treatments.
