Colorado payers collaborating to create data-sharing solution

Seven payers in Colorado are joining forces to develop a collaborative data-sharing platform to improve care delivery for their patients.

The goal of the new Colorado Comprehensive Primary Care platform is to streamline the process by which providers receive data from payers. Currently, providers receive different, disparate reports from each payer and have to access different websites to access patient data. With the new data-sharing online tool, providers can access a single source for patient information.

The following payers are participating in developing Colorado CPC:

  • Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield
  • Cigna
  • Colorado Access
  • Colorado Choice Health Plans
  • Colorado Medicaid/Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing
  • Rocky Mountain Health Plans
  • United Healthcare

Most of the participating payers are financing a tool allowing providers to access patient claims data from one website.

"This initiative represents a major step forward for both providers and payers in Colorado," said Patrick Gordon, associate vice president at Rocky Mountain Health Plans. "For the first time, physicians will be able to access actionable, patient-specific data across multiple insurers and self-funding employers in a single analytic tool."
