A new CMS final rule increases federal funding for states to develop and improve electronic Medicaid and CHIP enrollment systems.
Under the new final rule, CMS will cover 90 percent of costs related to launching or upgrading the electronic enrollment systems and 75 percent of costs related to ongoing maintenance. The final rule also imposes defined standards and conditions, in terms of timeliness, accuracy, efficiency and integrity, in order to receive the enhanced funding.
The final rule will be published in the Federal Register on April 19.
