The Center for Internet Security and the Medical Device Innovation, Safety and Security Consortium have released the CIS/MDISS Security Benchmark Mapping Guidance, a resource designed to help medical device manufacturers keep medical devices secure.
The guidance is intended to help device manufacturers better mitigate the data security risks associated with network-connected medical devices. In addition, the CIS/MDISS collaborative is working to develop a set of security benchmarks that will further inform device fortification efforts.
Additional initiative partners for development of the resource include Albany Medical Center, College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, National Health ISAC, Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, Underwriters Laboratory and Industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team.
