Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics in Kansas City, Mo., is adding more telemedicine clinics and adding office space in Wichita, Kan., to accommodate new services such as behavioral health telemedicine and rehabilitative health telemedicine.
The expansion is a result of the hospital's successes with its allergy and asthma telemedicine clinic in Wichita.
"I think it's great that I can provide the convenience for the families," said Jay Portnoy, MD, division director for allergy, asthma and immunology at Children's Mercy. "Most people really don’t find a difference between face-to-face and telemedicine once they start in. The technology disappears."
