Chicago safety-net system, Israeli innovation group partner for health tech

Sinai Health System, the Chicago-based nonprofit hospital group, has joined with the Center for Digital Innovation in Beer-Sheba, Israel, to develop digital solutions for challenges in healthcare.

The organizations formalized their partnership with a Memorandum of Understanding dictating how CDI will match startups, pilot programs and other health IT initiatives with issues facing Sinai's network of care providers and patients. The alliance will specifically target healthcare tech, pharmaceutical and active aging initiatives.

One of the first of the partnership's projects will see Sinai implementing CDI's advanced technology to monitor senior citizens' "soft" falls. Used in tandem with Sinai's own senior wellness efforts, the program aims to assess the causes of these minor falls and determine ways to intervene to prevent more significant falls in the future, improving the overall health of Chicago's aging population.
