Tacoma, Wash.-based CHI Franciscan Health and GE Healthcare joined forces to establish a command center to help support caregivers as they work to enhance patient safety and care coordination.
The center, inspired by National Aeronautics and Space Administration's mission control centers, will feature an artificial intelligence-driven system that leverages predictive analytics and machine learning to assist in staff decision making around hospital operations.
Licensed providers in CHI Franciscan's Mission Control Center will use apps to optimize patient care operations, including streamlining the discharge process by helping caregivers identify issues that can cause delays.
CHI Franciscan is the fifth health system in North America to join GE Healthcare's Command Center Ecosystem.
