CGI Group's CONNECT Gateway can be used in Sequoia Project's eHealth Exchange

CGI Group's CONNECT Gateway was certified for use in The Sequoia Project's eHealth Exchange program, according to a Nasdaq report. The Sequoia Project, a nonprofit organization, manages eHealth Exchange, a well-known health information exchange network in the United States.

CGI Group's subsidiary, CGI Federal, in collaboration with U.S. Federal Health Architecture, developed CONNECT. CONNECT  is an open-source platform that allows for secured exchange of health information. More than 2,000 U.S. organizations use CONNECT.

The Sequoia Project's eHealth Exchange connects more than 100 million patients through both federal agencies and non-federal organizations.

CONNECT Gateway's certification "is a major step forward for CGI Federal in supporting national health IT standards in the federal health domain," noted the report.
