CommonWell Health Alliance's cross-vendor interoperability services for the post-acute care market are now available. Brightree, Cerner and McKesson will be amongst the first of the organization's members to deploy these solutions.
The CommonWell services include person enrollment, record location, patient identification and linking and data query and retrieval. Post-acute care facilities will be able to begin using the services in the first quarter of this year.
Brightree, a cloud-based software and services provider, will offer the CommonWell services to its home health and hospice clients during its next winter release of the Brightree Home Health and Brightree Hospice. Cerner will begin offering the services to its post-acute care clients early this year. McKesson will make the services available to its clients through McKesson Homecare and McKesson Hospice in March.
"Our long-term care clients are eager to adopt CommonWell functionality," said Adam Laskey, senior director of long-term and post-acute care at Cerner. "As care providers become more focused on care coordination, it becomes increasingly important to enable the exchange of clinical health data across the continuum."
