Cerner is partnering with the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Health to launch the first patient portal in the Middle East. The member portal will provide residents of Dubai and Northern Emirates with secure access to their health records through a bilingual member portal.
Patients will be able to access appointments, lab tests and prescription history, as well as secure messaging and video consultation with their physicians.
In 2008, the UAE’s Ministry of Health used Cerner Millenium to integrate clinical, operational and administrative data for patients as part of a “One Patient, One Record” initiative.
Cerner will now provide back-end support and a bilingual help desk for the new member portal, which it will host on a standalone website integrated with the health record.
