Cerner becomes largest private employer in Kansas City

A rash of recent hiring has made Cerner the largest private employer in Kansas City, Mo., according to a report in the Kansas City Business Journal.

The EHR giant, which currently employs about 14,000 globally, has added about 1,500 to its workforce in the past year, according to the report.

Cerner is expected to add an additional 16,000 employees to fill its new, $4.5 billion campus in the southern part of the city, according to the report. Construction of the campus is expected to be completed by 2024.
