California perinatal clinic reports data breach

A perinatal clinic in California is notifying patients after discovering a patient list on an employee's personal laptop.

East Bay Perinatal Medical Associates, with offices in Berkeley, Oakland and San Leandro, found the list on the laptop during an investigation of an unrelated matter. The employee had created the patient list as part of the employee's duties for cataloguing records.

The list only contained names and birthdates and has since been deleted from the laptop's hard drive.
