The California Health eQuality program, managed by the UC Davis Institute for Population Health Improvement, announced that it has launched a $1 million Rural Health Information Exchange Incentive Program.
The incentive program aims at fostering the adoption of health information exchange technologies among physicians, clinics and hospitals in rural California. It also encourages meeting federal meaningful use criteria.
The CHeQ has allotted $1 million for the rural HIE incentive program for the remainder of 2013. Continuation of the program after this year will depend on the availability of funds and results of the current program.
