A chiropractor's office in Berkeley, Calif., is notifying patients of potential data breach after burglars stole a laptop and backup hard drive containing patient information.
Burglars broke into Vibrant Body Wellness' office the weekend of March 5. According to a notice on the provider's website, the laptop and hard drive were encrypted and password-protected, but contained personal information, including names, birth dates, addresses, contact information, diagnosis and billing information.
The provider notified police. Currently there is no indication any information has been accessed or used by an unauthorized individual.
