Boston Children's Hospital has released a free app called Caremap, which allows parents to keep track of their child's healthcare and easily share information with providers.
The app was developed in collaboration between the hospital's Innovation & Digital Health Accelerator and Durham, NC-based Duke Health System. The app will be especially useful to parents with complex medical needs, who require the ability to share information with multiple different specialists.
Parents will also have the ability to track their child's day-to-day symptoms and other healthcare factors, which are then organized into graphs that allow for easy comparison and analysis.
Developers hope to soon link Caremap's information to electronic health records through Cerner and Epic, and also create cloud connectivity that will allow even greater dialogue between parents and physicians.
