The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association's National Labor Office has entered into a partnership with Teledoc to provide telemedicine benefits to members covered by labor trust funds, labor unions and independent BSBC companies served by the NLO.
Teledoc offers patients on-demand access to physicians via phone, video chat or a mobile app to receive treatment for a variety of acute, nonemergent conditions. Through the partnership, union clients will have the ability to incorporate Teledoc services into their BCBS union contracts.
"The BCBS National Labor Office is committed to forming strategic alliances with innovative companies whose services can help the Blues better serve labor's 21st century healthcare needs," said Bonnie Summers, executive director of the NLO, in a news release. "Teladoc's telehealth services can provide unions with a powerful solution to help lower costs and improve quality for their members — offering them an affordable and convenient way to access healthcare services whenever and wherever they are."
