All six hospitals of Cooperstown, N.Y.-based Bassett Healthcare have joined Hixny's Regional Health Information Organization and are live on Hixny's Health Information Exchange.
Hixny's RHIO serves more than 1.6 million customers throughout Northern New York and the state's Capital District. It is one of 10 nonprofit RHIOs in the state.
All RHIOs in New York will eventually connect to the Statewide Health Information Network, allowing for the sharing of electronic records throughout the state.
"The role of Hixny and other RHIOs is important to advancing high quality healthcare and patient safety," said Vance Brown, MD, president and CEO of Bassett.
