Atos, a French IT company, has bought Dallas-based Anthelio Healthcare Solutions in a $275 million deal, according to The Dallas Morning News.
Anthelio offers IT services to physician practices, hospitals and healthcare providers, including Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente and Plano, Texas-based LHP Hospital Group. Atos acquired Anthelio from the London-based private equity firm Actis and Flint, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care.
Through the acquisition, Atos, which specializes in manufacturing and telecommunications IT, hopes to broaden its reach in the healthcare IT realm.
Anthelio CEO Asif Ahmad will take the helm at the new operation.
Atos and Anthelio employees in Dallas will move to a new office in Irving, Texas in December. The Irving location will serve as Atos' new regional headquarters. Atos has 900 employees in Dallas, while Anthelio has 100 in the area.
