athenahealth Revenue up 27% in Q2

This week, athenahealth announced its total revenue from the three months ended June 30 was $185.9 million, a 27 percent increase over the second quarter of 2013.

Revenue from athenahealth-branded services was $170.3 million, up 32 percent compared with the same period last year. Services provided under the Epocrates brand, which athenahealth acquired in 2013, brought in $11.3 million, down 23 percent from last year.

"We continue to make progress in bringing the value of cloud-based, software-enabled services to healthcare," said Jonathan Bush, athenahealth's chairman and CEO, in the news release. "We're adding more healthcare providers and organizations onto our national cloud network and we are growing the number of insight-driven services and workflows we deliver to further our clients' financial and operational performance."
