In efforts to enhance care for patients with diabetes, athenahealth is partnering with the YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program, integrating its EHR with the program to better deliver healthcare services.
The YMCA's DPP is a 12-month behavioral and lifestyle intervention for adults at risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Through the new partnership, the YMCA DPP will be able to connect with the providers on athenahealth's network to expand services and support it provides to local communities.
"By integrating program data with athenahealth's network-enabled EHR and patient engagement services, our programs will become more accessible to healthcare providers and better able to coordinate care at the community level with data-backed, targeted precision," said Matt Longjohn, MD, national health officer of YMCA of the USA, in a statement.
