Athenahealth on May 17 expanded its portfolio of services for government-mandated quality reporting with a new guarantee program.
Through the new program — called the Meaningful Use Stage 3 Guarantee for Hospitals — athenahealth aims to support hospitals using the athenaOne for Hospitals & Health Systems Service. If a hospital uses the service with athenahealth's best practices and receives a downward payment adjustment to its Medicare Part A fee schedule, the company will provide a service fee credit to offset the adjustment.
Under the Guarantee for Ambulatory Clients, one of athenahealth's previous programs, 96.7 percent of clients successfully attested to Meaningful Use in 2016.
"Every hospital or health system — no matter the size — wants a partner who can tackle the complex work of getting reimbursed," said Jonathan Bush, CEO of athenahealth. "As government-mandated programs reinvent themselves year after year, we've taken on the reporting administration so our clients can remain focused."
