Apple, Google and Samsung have a new competitor in the arena: Telecommunications provider AT&T has announced its own mobile health platform.
Joining the ranks of Apple HealthKit, Google Fit and Samsung S Health comes AT&T's For Health, a wellness and fitness platform that operates much like the three former offerings, aggregating data from different apps and devices to provide a holistic picture of an individual's health.
"The mission of ForHealth is to make engaging with your health and wellness a daily utility, like checking your email or the weather," according to an AT&T release. "In other words, just like everything else we do with our smartphones."
AT&T partnered with digital health platform Tictrac to provide ForHealth, which is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2015.
