Apple, IBM partner to connect Japanese seniors & healthcare providers: 3 things to know

Technology powerhouses Apple and IBM have partnered to deliver healthcare apps to Japanese seniors, according to a Venture Beat report. Here are three things to know about the partnership. 


1. Apple and IBM launched the initiative in partnership with Japan Post, a company that provides insurance, banking and postal services, according to the report.

2.  Through the collaboration, IBM-developed healthcare apps will be accessible through iPhones and iPads. Health data will be reported through Apple's HealthKit and ResearchKit.

3. This is just another step forward in the Apple-IBM partnership. For more than a year, the two companies have been developing enterprise software applications for not only healthcare, but also a number of other industries, according to the report.
