Apple drops Fitbit from store following HealthKit snub

In response to the news that Fitbit won't be integrating with Apple's HealthKit, the technology giant has dropped the devices from its online stores, according to a report from Slash Gear.

Fitbit has announced a "wait and see" strategy for its new devices. If consumers demand HealthKit integration for the new Fitbit devices, the company has said it will reconsider its decision to forgo integration.

Fitbit's disappearance from the Apple Store is an interesting case study of how Apple is choosing to interact with third-party developers and other makers of wearable health and wellness devices, given the company is still selling other health wearables, such as Jawbone, on its online store, according to the report.
