Anthem, UnitedHealthcare offer telemedicine coverage in Nevada

Two major payers in Nevada are recognizing and covering telemedicine consultations, according to a Las Vegas Review-Journal report.

Anthem and UnitedHealthcare, the two biggest payers in Nevada, have launched programs allowing for virtual visits between patients and physicians for "routine conditions."

Anthem's program, LiveHealth Online, is available 24/7 on a patient's personal device, as is UnitedHealthcare's Health Plan of Nevada app NowClinic.

Visits via Anthem's LiveHealth Online cost the same as or less than an in-office primary care visit for members and $49 for nonmembers. UnitedHealthcare's NowClinic is restricted to commercial and individual enrollees and costs approximately $10 to $15 per visit, according to the report.
