Anthem health plan members with the latest version of the Samsung Health app on their Galaxy devices can now access American Well telehealth services as part of a newly announced partnership.
Powered by American Well's technology, LiveHealth Online connects consumers to U.S.-based, board-certified healthcare providers for non-emergency medical care. The service is available to Anthem members within the Samsung Health app.
The tool allows consumers to "Ask an Expert" about their non-emergency medical needs such as colds, coughs, flu or allergies and then consult with a provider via video chat.
"Anthem's partnership with Samsung and American Well is one way we are investing in innovation and digital capabilities that will advance access to healthcare for consumers across the country," said Peter Haytaian, executive vice president and president of Anthem's commercial and specialty business division. "The healthcare needs of consumers are incredibly dynamic, and technology will continue to be the gateway to enable consumers broader choice of care to improve their health and wellbeing."
