Anthem Blue Cross to release digital benefits, health engagement platform

Indianapolis-based Anthem Blue Cross will launch a new digital platform in January to create a personalized member experience.

Anthem's Engage will link health plans and benefits data to clinical and claims data, as well as information from health and wellness apps. It will offer employers access to a single web and mobile solution so all their employee's information is together in one place. Its wellness features will be open to all employees, whether they are enrolled or not, helping employers reach 100 percent of their employee population.

"Engage is born out of Anthem's commitment to provide an engaging healthcare experience for everyone while sparking personal action and empowerment," said Brian Ternan, president of commercial business at Anthem. "Rather than contending with a myriad of one-off digital offerings that address only small portions of their health benefits and healthcare or fitness data, Engage brings together an individual's health and benefits into one location, empowering employees with information and support for better health and better health care decisions."

Engage also links with Anthem's suite of clinical and wellness programs, and gives members instant access to telehealth services.
