Ancestry, a provider of direct-to-consumer genetic testing and genealogy services, will implement planning analytics tools from IBM help forecast its business processes, such as revenue and subscriptions.
IBM worked with software developer Data41 to create an analytics and forecasting tool for Ancestry. The tool, which runs on the IBM Cloud, enables Ancestry to draw insights from financial data — such as information on budgeting and labor cost — to inform its business decisions.
"We have expanded rapidly around the world, so we required a system that supports our pace of growth," said Curtis Tripoli, vice president of financial planning and analysis at Ancestry.
Today, Ancestry has more than 10 million customers on its genetic testing service AncestryDNA and more than three million subscribers.
