Amazon Web Services unveiled two open-source blockchain frameworks for Ethereum and Hyperledger Fabric April 19 to make it easier for developers to create blockchain projects.
Blockchain, which rose to prominence as the backbone technology of cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, is a decentralized, peer-to-peer network that enables developers to build applications in which multiple parties can record transactions on a shared ledger.
Using managed and certified AWS CloudFormation templates, developers can leverage the AWS Blockchain Templates and run Ethereum and Hyperledger Fabric frameworks. The blockchain is built on individuals' own Amazon virtual private clouds, and it is deployed as containers on either an Amazon Elastic Container Service cluster or directly on an EC2 instance running Docker.
"AWS Blockchain Templates allow you to focus on building your blockchain applications instead of spending time and energy on manual setup of your blockchain network," the company wrote in a press release.
