In a step to advance their strategic partnership, Allscripts and NantHealth have invested significant sums of money in one another's companies.
Allscripts purchased a 10 percent equity stake in NantHealth for $200 million cash, and NantCapital, the investment arm of NantHealth, invested $100 million in Allscripts.
The investments seek to strengthen the strategic alliance between the two companies, announced in March 2015, focused on developing and providing precision medicine solutions, leveraging Allscripts' global network of clients and software solutions as well as NantHealth's clinical platform and connectivity devices.
"We're taking an important step forward in our strategic partnership that fully aligns our resources and furthers Allscripts' strategy to invest in new technologies that can revolutionize service to hospitals and physicians," said Paul Black, president and CEO of Allscripts, in a statement. "We're confident that our joint efforts will help Allscripts lead the way in our vision of delivering an open, integrated and precision-based medical solutions to physicians and patients."
