Allscripts' Professional EHR on April 5 achieved full certification under ONC's 2015 edition health IT product criteria.
The Allscripts EHR was certified by Drummond Group, one of several software certification organizations ONC approved to test EHR software under the new criteria. The EHR is now OK'ed for Modified Meaningful Use Stage 2, Meaningful Use Stage 3, Advancing Care Information and ACI transition requirements.
"This marks an important milestone for certified EHR technology," said Timothy Bennett, senior technical adviser and test proctor for Drummond Group. "Allscripts Professional EHR is the first health IT product to meet all the qualifications from CMS and ONC that enable providers to meet the strict requirements necessary to participate in the Advancing Care Information program for Medicare and the Meaningful Use Stage 3 program for Medicaid."
Allscripts is one of the first EHR vendors to meet 2015 edition certified health IT criteria for its full EHR. Epic was certified for its EpicCare Ambulatory EHR Suite and EpicCare Inpatient EHR Suite in late 2016. Athenahealth, Cerner and Meditech have not been certified under the 2015 criteria.
